Style Edit | Recreate this Vintage YSL Suede Jacket Look

Suede is a beautifully warm, textured material that is a staple of my early fall wardrobe each year. And this year we see a love affair with suede playing out on the runways. The best thing about suede is that, when featured in accessories or outerwear, it can add dimension and complexity to a look, elevating it instantly. This suede revival was the perfect opportunity to revisit a vintage treasure in my closet: A 2003 S/S Tom Ford for YSL suede bomber jacket.

HOW TO STYLE IT

I styled this vintage piece with an olive green fluid satin midi skirt, grounding it with an easy white tee, and accenting with playful statement accessories like these Rebecca Minkoff Gabian calf hair point-toe heeled mules in a leopard print and a compact structured handbag like this Jacquemus Bambino handbag. The interplay of textures (i.e. suede, satin, cotton, and print), creates that ideal mix of polish and ease, which is exactly how suede should feel this season.

You may not be able to snatch up my vintage YSL bomber, but you can recreate its polished-meets-playful energy with contemporary alternatives. Get the look below and check out MY TOP FIVE tailored suede (and suede alternative) jackets for this fall.
